![]() about us - overviewThe Nhulunbuy Regional Sports Fishing Club was originally established to promote and support sports fishing, the recreational pastime of chasing big game fish on light line tackle, in and around the East Arnhem Region. tournaments, activities and eventsThe purpose of tournaments, activities and events organised by the NRSFC is to encourage involvement with recreational fishing throughout the Nhulunbuy and surrounding areas in organized formats. Such events are conducted in accordance with the NRSFC constitution, managed by the elected Club Committee, and as directed by the Club's members. These activities will be promoted in competition, sporting and social event formats set down to encourage maximum participation from the available regional population base. In recognizing and addressing the diverse needs of local fishing community, the Club has expanded its focus on recreational fishing by including the most popular methods of angling in such events. All Tournaments, Competitions, Activities and Events hosted, managed or operated by the NRSFC will follow all requirements as detailed in the NRSFC Tournament Guidelines document. Members can participate in several fishing categories within all Club Tournaments and Competitions. Anglers can still select the traditional challenges of Game Fishing, a format supported by guidelines and regulations that attract the accreditation of Territory, Australian and World Record claims. But Club members can now also choose to participate in the very popular pastimes of Reef Fishing, Estuary Fishing and Land Based Fishing categories. So if it's fishing from a wharf, out of a tinnie in a creek, bottom bouncing on the reef or testing your skills on light tackle, the NRSFC can offer an enjoyable challenge to your recreational pastime. The intent of all NRSFC fishing competitions is to ensure that all rules, fishing categories and prize sections do not discriminate or disadvantage in any way, a competing angler and or team. These guidelines have been adopted to promote a clear, consistent and transparent approach to the fishing activities and events hosted by the NRSFC.
